Most always in wartime, the military-industrial complex thrives. Not so in Russia in this war. With German makers refusing to supply components, Russia is left without enough components to make it's military machinery. One wonders if Russia seized the John Deere tractors in hopes of converting them to tank-like machines.
Russia should be scrambling to create domestic component-makers. Instead, it is reducing wages and laying off workers. Killing your own war machinery industry is hardly the way to win a war.
