The nation's current crop of people is making its legacy, now, on the stage everyone believes belongs to Donald Trump.
But, they are crawling on the stage with him, these people of America. And, it will be their legacy, as well.
Trump pulled a trick few presidents could get away with. Go after a political opponent of mine, or we won't help you militarily. That's one offense. But, when it came time to investigate, the White House told its people not to cooperate. Would most people look at these things and see they are wrong?
Generations ahead, when the dust has settled, it would seem they will be able to look at things a little more clearly. Wrong is wrong. Bribery is wrong. Obstruction of justice is wrong. Impeachable offenses, both.
Our legacy? A good share of Americans cannot see the bribery, and cannot see the obstruction of justice. They are blind to the shames of the nation. It does seem to me, future generations will look at us and wonder how we could justify such things of a president.
