Not Always a Rocking Chair
You can join with the raisins
and those who are old.
Call them your friends
and join in their fold.
Play bingo and bridge
and golf every day.
Then stop for some coffee
down at the café.
You can ride into the sunset,
quiet as night.
Fade away, fade away,
if you think that is right.
But old age need not
be a rocking chair.
It can be hope
and a dream that is fair.
