Tidal power -- harnessing beneath-the-sea tides to create energy -- is one of the best renewable energy sources. The world needs to wake up to it's benefits and utilize its for a sizeable chunk of energy needs. The U.S. has no commerical power plants at all, but Japan is ready to lower one in the ocean. Many of the drawbacks to tital energy can be overcome. Marine life getting killed by the turbines? Can't we place a screen in front of the turbines that shields marine life. Such a screen would also prevent the marine life from jamming the turbines.
