Hero with a Flaw

A hero has a flaw
Now, we've seen this so many times
But I'll just mention two
Just two of these crimes

First, there's Jimmy Carter
A true and Christian soul
But he was perhaps partly guilty
Of El Salvador's death toll

Then, we think of Christopher
Christopher Columbus, was his name
He discovered America
And for that he gained his fame

But what is this?
He took some natives back with him
And turned them into slaves
Oh, Columbus! How awful and how grim!
