To the end, he was a saint and a soldier
Fighting for truth and light
His soul remained strong in vigor
Even as his body slipped into the night

Pope Francis was a saint
A saint before the earth
He was a noble soul
A soul of great worth

And as we face his passing
And as we face his death
We honor him for fighting for truth
Right up to his last breath
