Go Right Back in and Protect the Kurdish People
So this becomes the question. If we can see it is wrong to abandon the Kurds, and if it is that we have taken our military presence away, why are we not overruling our President and going right back in? It is Congress that has the power to declare war. Congress. So, what is Congress doing? Isn't a declaration of war a Constitutional way of going about this? Why, then, no discussion on whether Congress will declare war -- declare that we are going back in, stationing ourselves in Rojava (the area of the Kurds), where we will protect the Kurdish people? Why? We can see the Kurds need our help. We cry foul that we have abandoned them. Yet we are doing nothing about it? We should thumb our nose at President Trump, with Congress declaring we are going right back in to protect our ally. I cannot see why this is not the right thing to do.
