One way to ruin a nation is to ruin its justice system. If you can undermine the investigative branch of the government, you can take the reins of the government, itself. If you can reach the point where you are able to overrule convictions against your faction and send your political foes to jail instead, and you will . . .
Destroy America.
One wonders if Congress has ever in its history established a select committee to investigate the FBI. The idea is fraught with danger. No, you don't want corruption in the FBI, but one cannot help but reminisce on countries where factions have gained control and thrown their political opponents in jail for supposed corruption.
Start with Russia and go from there.
One does not know where the new House committee will go. No, we don't know that it will go so far as to overthrow our government. But, in a day of insurrectionalists -- in a day in which those House members side with the insurrectionalists, believing they should not have been punished . . .
Bless our nation. But, yes, there is a danger.
