NHL Players also Take Life-Threatening Shots to the Chest

You heard that Buffalo Bills football player Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest after taking a hit to the chest. Now, learn that in hockey, hard hits to the chest are also associated with cardiac problems. Five NHL players who collapsed during games in the past 25 years were diagnosed with heart-related issues.

The heart is in the chest, it's beating is in the chest, and we should not be surprised that blows to the chest can be heart-threatening. We should be looking to see if we can upgrade the protective gear for the chest. Thick foam rubber padding? Whatever it is, something should be done.
